IsoBuster 5.1 released

IsoBuster 5.1 was released today. As always, the list is long. Lots of improvements and several new features. This version is a logical successor to IsoBuster 5.0, further building on the new technology and improving a crisp display on new and future systems with high dpi screens, not to mention 64bit support. On top of that there are some really cool new engineering features to parse a FAT and show all the files it references without having to rely on FAT folder records that may have been corrupted.
We just released IsoBuster 5.0. This version is a big update ! From now on there will be a 64 bit version, but we'll try to keep a 32 bit version as well for as long as that is possible. IsoBuster 5.0 now supports high dpi scaling and per monitor scaling. Two very big implementations. On top of that IsoBuster supports styles. Default, two dark and one light styles are bundled, but many other styles can be used as well. Best check the release notes for more information

IsoBuster 4.8 released

I just released IsoBuster 4.8. This new version features a lot of new functionality as well as improvements and fixes. Microsoft's newest file system, ReFS, is officially undocumented, but we managed to reverse engineer it and versions 1.x, 2.x and 3.x are now fully implemented. Another exciting new feature is support for compressed *.dmg image files. But there is more, such as AmigaDOS, cool new search features etc. Why don't you have a look at the release notes for more information

IsoBuster 4.8 Beta released

IsoBuster 4.8 beta was just released with a lot of exiting new functionality, improvements and the neccessary fixes. I'm exited to be able to announce full ReFS support. As you probably know this is an undocumented file system, so it was quite the challenge. I'm also happy that compressed dmg files are fully supported now. This means random access, extracting files and folders and the ability to convert to an uncompressed generic *.dsk image file for instance. But there is a lot more to check out.
IsoBuster 3.9 released

I'm happy to announce the release of IsoBuster 3.9. This version supports defining your own file signatures, so that you can look for them on any type media via a search for missing files and folders. There is also full support for compressed system files in NTFS volumes. A new type of compression since Windows 10. And last but not least IsoBuster can now make full copies (clones) of hard drives or partitions. Also from image files, which opens the door to a lot of possibilities. All this can be done 'Managed' or otherwise. Best go see for yourself, read the details and download this version asap ! The several bug fixes also make this a must have version !

IsoBuster 3.7 released

The new IsoBuster release (3.7) is finally here. I strongly suggest you update to this new version, or consider purchasing an upgrade if you have an older major-version-range version of IsoBuster. Changes in this new version are mainly in the GUI, but there are a few important bug fixes that you should take advantage of as well ! This version features a breadcrumbs control for easy navigation, with lots of powerful features under the hood and powerful search functionality in files and folders.

IsoBuster 3.7 Beta released

The new IsoBuster release is eminent, but first, as always, there is a stable Beta version of IsoBuster, while I do the last tweaks in preparation of the final release. Please check it out, it's worth it and if there are last minute changes or add-ons required, now is the moment. The focus for this version was mainly on the GUI. It features a breadcrumbs control for easy navigation with lots of powerful features under the hood. A second powerful new feature is search functionality in files and folders (for instance find all files that map over a certain block, or search a folder with certain name, with wildcards and regular expression and so on

IsoBuster 3.6 released

IsoBuster 3.6 is ready and available for download. Aside from a few critical bug fixes and a ton of improvements there is also a lot of new functionality again. Such as support for the Linux EXT file system, which is a very popular file system that is also used a lot in embedded systems, NAS drives, TVs, Setup boxes, Recorders etc. However, there is also support for High Sierra, GameCube, Rimage and so on. On top of this IsoBuster detects a wide range of new file systems for their presence (JFS, ZFS, BFS, RomFS, SquashFS, BtrFS, CramFS, ReFS, ...). This way investigators can immediately see if a partition or volume hides another file system. I hope you enjoy this new version and you should definitely upgrade if you have an older version, to benefit from the bug fixes etc.
